The scope of the Space Coast Area Transit (SCAT) Canopy Replacement project included demolition of an existing structure that housed the fueling systems for the local area public transportation services and installation of a new canopy structure, storage building, concrete slab, concrete footers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Access and operations of the existing fueling services was maintained during construction at the active public transportation servicing and operations center. Temporary overhead protection measures were implemented and maintained for the duration of the project to protect staff from hazards and inclement weather.
The project also included the installation of temporary lighting which allowed night operations to continue while maintaining the safety and security of the facility. Additionally, uninterrupted electrical service was maintained at the fuel island so that there was no negative impact to daily operations. Construction was completed on time and within budget.
